Senior Safety Officer
Chris Perry
Amberley Village Police Department
Senior Safety Officer Chris Perry has a groundbreaking role in law enforcement: he’s the first-ever Senior Safety Officer in Amberley Village. Funded by the Jewish Home of Cincinnati, Perry’s job is to get to know older residents in the community to identify ways to ensure safe “aging in place.” His “dream job,” Perry says he’s honored to be making a noticeable difference in the lives of those he serves. Recently retired from law enforcement after more than 30 years with Cincinnati Police, Perry has turned a past personal experience with his mother’s dementia into a community-wide mission to help older residents remain safe at home. Chris has received multiple commendations from community organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati, and Hospice of Southwest Ohio. When not working, Perry also serves fellow law enforcement officers facing PTSD and depression, and has been a guest on numerous podcasts on the importance of mental health.

Amberley Village, in conjunction with the Foundation for Cincinnati Jewish Seniors, is leading the way with its groundbreaking Senior Safety Program, which aims to help older residents remain in their homes as they age. Senior Safety Officer Chris Perry manages the program, and serves as the primary contact for residents seeking services. Officer Perry's personalized interaction with residents has already proved invaluable to residents. Check out the recent story on WCPO-TV!
Recently, through a partnership with the Amberley Village WeTHRIVE! Health & Wellness Committee and the Alzheimer's Assocation of Greater Cincinnati, the Amberley Village Police Department has established a new Health & Wellness Program led by Officer Perry and Senior Safety Program Partners. Together, they offer programming designed to educate residents about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, foster awareness and cultivate long-term health habits. The first series of programming was launched in March of 2025, with subsequent sessions throughout the year. Video of each session is available online for anyone who may have missed a session or wishes to refresh their memory by visiting the Amberley Village YouTube Channel.
