9th Annual Bike Safety Fair Serves More Than 50 Local Children
Officer Andrea Alt and the Amberley Village Police Department recently held the ninth annual installment of the Amberley Village Bike Safety Fair, where more than 50 children were signed up to attend. Each child who registered was fitted for a bike helmet, and an additional 25 were handed out, for a total of 75 bike helmets distributed, courtesy of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Four new bicycles were raffled off, and employees from Hamilton County Safe Communities provided a table with safety messaging. The Mayerson JCC generously provided event space, water bottles, and assisted with set up and planning, and an Amberley Village resident provided the bicycle giveaways, stickers and shaved ice. Volunteers from the Deer Park Veterinary Hospital operated the bike raffle station, and volunteers from ECS and the AVPD and Fire contributed their time operating the bike course, planning, safety and helmet fittings, as well as overall operations. Thanks to all who made the event an incredible success!
