The Amberley Village Police and Fire Department was established in 1941, and was made up of five full-time officers/dispatchers. The department presently consists of seventeen full time officers and four civilian dispatcher/clerks.
The Amberley Village Police and Fire Department is one of two fully-consolidated public safety departments in the State of Ohio. All officers are cross-trained in law enforcement and firefighting duties. This degree of specialization is necessary to meet the broad responsibilities of a combined agency. Such complete individual capabilities minimizes expenditures and maximizes quick and effective response to the wide range of citizen demands and requests.
The newest member of the department is James Drake. Jim joined the department in February, 2007 after serving with the Deer Park Police Department for six years.
