3. Fall Lecture: Thanks again to Dave Stang, Certified Tree Care. Lecture on 11/14 was big success over with 25 residents in attendance! Thanks to Jim Kelly & Bernie for providing refreshments
4. Beautification Awards
a. Regina suggested next year awards distinguish between professional & non-professional landscape designs
b. Signs have been collected to reuse next year
5. Arbor Day celebration 2008 in Amberley will be MAY 4 (Actual OH date 4/25) Activities to include:
a. Arbor Day Proclamation
b. Ceremonial Planting & work on Rain Garden
c. Kick-off announcement of Beautification Awards 2008 Program
d. Distribute Beautification Award signs to 2007 winners
e. Garden maintenance projects
f. “door prizes” –gator bags, protective tree ring, hi quality loppers, soaker hose, velco pruner—distinguish between AV residents & others
6. North Gateway @ Cross-County:
a. Bernie discussed working with JCC/agency folks to develop gateway plantings & design; new Village signage opportunity @ north gateway
7. Public Outreach:
a. Newsletter: 1/8/08 deadline for next newsletter (out 2/1)
b. Website: reviewed & recommend additional content for programs, updates, public service information & resources
8. TCUSA Application: finalize details for 12/7 due date
a. Recertification application in progress. Merrie put together CD with 2007 programs
b. Discussed possible categories to qualify for Growth Award
