Meeting Date: July 29, 2008 Present: Merrie Stillpass; Jim Kelly; Pam Hessler; Steve Rasfeld; Scott Heizman; Tom Karr; Josephine Rosenblum; Nancy Horwitz; Regina Radin; Ed Hattenbach; Leslie McIntosh; Albert & Elaine Tomasi; Bonnie Peterson; Cynthia Goodman; Gary Meisner & Emalee Ridgway—Meisner + Associates/LandVision
Discussion: b. Volunteers: schedule will be sent out to Leslie, Scott, Albert & Elaine Tomasi, Regina, Jim. More volunteers needed welcome! c. AVBC table will have the following information on hand: information sign-up (general AVBC, ReLeaf 2008, VIGC); Heritage Tree Program; EAB info; Rain Barrel garden; Beautification Awards—past winners poster & 2008 nominees- 3. Presentation/Discussion: b. Meisner + Associates/LandVision (M+A) have been hired by AV to look gateways, connectivity and green infrastructure as a foundation for decision making to future enhance the environment, livability, character and identity of the Village. c. M+A shared inventory analysis maps showing slopes, watershed issues, soils, flooding and opportunity & problem areas; Existing land use & zoning; gateways & crossroads, and scenic corridors d. Definitions: Large Scale—a system of connected green spaces; Large Scale—Methods used in implementation or elements utilized to measure and or improve environmental well being. e. Scope of work: big picture à details. Connectivity is a big part of green infrastructure study. Storm water problems can be moderated with green infrastructure. Also includes gateways, paths/trails and storm water f. Discussions touched on the following:
