History
History on the Beautification Committee

The Amberley Village Beautification Committee (AVBC) was established in September 2004 to preserve and enhance the natural park-like heritage of Amberley and to improve the visual appearance of our neighborhoods.   This includes all trees, shrubs, gardens and streetscapes in the public areas and rights-of-ways.

Tree City USA standards gave the AVBC a framework in which to organize efforts and assess existing pruning and planting programs.   A Public Tree Ordinance adopted in November 2004 further established the objectives and commitment to the trees in the Village.   Amberley earned the Tree City USA designation from The National Arbor Day Foundation in 2005 and in 2007 received a Growth Award for environmental improvement and high levels of tree care.
