The purpose of the meeting was to hear results of the survey of residents on the Crest Hills property. Peg distributed copies of a preliminary report of the findings to all present and gave an oral presentation of them.

  • Resident Albert Lane distributed a letter to the Council and presented his concerns about the survey process.
  • Of the 2507 surveys sent to registered voters, 1391 were returned, for a very high rate of 55.5%. A total of 555 residents preferred option 1, a total of 810 for option 2 (423 for high density and 362 for one-acre minimum). Additionally, 20 people preferred either option 2 choice and another 26 disliked the options.
  • A third of the respondents (460) made comments on survey card. Peg had categorized them for each group.
  • A brief discussion followed the presentation.
  • Council will continue to review the results, particularly to understand the comments. Further discussion with residents may be needed, possibly in conjunction with the Long-Range Planning Committee.
